The album was launched by none other than the legendry singer Sonu Nigam. He wished the singer, "Shibani is a dear friend and a wonderful person. Its all her hard work that has got her here today. The way she has shaped up her career as a singer is really commendable."
Shibani thanked all the people who came in to support her, "I am overwhelmed as all my friends have come here to support me. I would like to thank my Director, choreographer, music director, lyricist without whom this album wouldn't have been complete."
The highlights of My Free Spirit include four tracks composed by Justin & Uday which Shibani describes as "refreshing compositions", one by Santosh Nair, two by Shibani herself Alvida, "a tribute to the Mumbai 26/11 terror attack victims", and Jane Kya Anjaam Hoga, and a song from the original disco emperor, Bappi Lahiri, who has composed and sung on Disco with Shibani, with a remix of the song provided by DJ Nakul Shourie.
The album is backed by a brilliantly shot music video in Diu for the song Bakhuda, directed by Sanjay F Gupta, which is receiving considerable airplay on television channels.
